Nashville headed to Tamworth

AUSTRALIAN-BORN, US-based singer-songwriter-actress, Clare Bowen, today announced that she will include Tamworth on her extensive ten-date concert series around Australia in July.

Last year, Clare embarked on her debut Australian tour and sold out seven East Coast dates almost instantaneously. This year she includes Tamworth on July 11 where she will play Blazes in Wests as well as some of the country’s premiere theatre venues, beginning at Adelaide’s Her Majesty’s Theatre on Monday, July 3.

Nashville, Bowen is a ferocious and gifted performer, enthralling in the live arena.

She has performed at some of the world’s most iconic music venues, including Nashville’s Grand Ole Opry, along with two sets at this year’s prestigious Sundance Music & Film Festival. This June will see Clare and some of her Nashville co-stars hit the road as part of the Nashville In Concert tour through the UK and Ireland.

Clare is currently juggling time in the studio recording her anticipated debut album, alongside her NASHVILLE filming commitments. Clare has been writing and recording with A-list producers on this project and hopes to release it this year. Earlier in the year, the starlet partnered with St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital and released her first solo song. ‘Love Steps In’, penned by Clare’s fiancé Brandon Robert Young and the couple’s friend Justin Halpin, is a tribute to her younger brother, Timothy James Bowen, who spent all of 2016 fighting end-stage cancer. Timothy is now in remission and will be opening the tour for Clare.

Years before launching her career as a singer-songwriter, a young Clare Bowen was growing up in rural Australia, miles from the nearest city, writing down everything she felt, heard, saw and dreamed.

“Music was my connection to the rest of the world,” she says. “I was brought up on my parents vinyl collection – everything from Vivaldi, to Elvis, to Dolly, to Springsteen, Edith Piaf and Etta James.”

Along the way, she established herself as an in-demand actress on both sides of the Atlantic, earning critical praise in the highly controversial Australian film The Combination, directed by David Field, and as the leading role of Wendla in the Sydney Theatre Company’s musical production of Spring Awakening.

Music lovers, don’t miss your chance to experience this captivating artist on her homecoming theatre tour this July.
